Mandarin Oriental Hotel and St. Lenox Church Wedding

One of the things that I clearly remember when we covered this wedding was that it was raining hard. I mean that rain was literally pouring like cats and dogs. The actual wedding ceremony was done at the ST Lenox Church in the North End. In the North End, the streets are narrow and then it was raining really hard. It's good I was able to protect the video and camera equipments by parking at the back of the church. I do not know if that was legal but the cops were not there because of the rain. To park in the North End, I have to park my ford F-150 truck in Atlantic Avenue which is around 10 minutes walk. In coming from the paid parking lot to St. Lenox, I have to walk and as it was raining really hard, the water in the street was 4 to 5 inches deep. My shoes was definitely soaked. My clothes were soaked too. But the wedding has to go on. All in all, I covered the wedding with wet clothes, wet hair. The groom and bride was wondering what happened to me but didn't ask. I just did my work and luckily it went with a few glitches. The glitch was that my $4,000 Canon Camera somehow got wet and it fires withour me clicking it. I know Marianna noticed it as the camera fires even before I look at the viewing screen. This is probably the toughest wedding that I ever covered.

Beforehand, Marianna the bride told me that we will have the formal Photo shoot in Boston Garden near the Swan Boats. This didn't happen because of the heavy rain. After the Church ceremony, we went directly to Mandarin Oriental Hotel and looked for parking. Claude, the groom, is french. The Church Wedding ceremony was in French. Here is a sample video clip of the wedding ceremony in Mandarin Hotel. The whole final wedding DVD is 2 hours long so this is just a couple of minutes of it:

As to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel reception, one of the things that I like is the access to the upscale shops downstairs. We did some formal photo shoots at the shops below Mandarin Oriental.

This was taken at the back of Mandarin Oriental. You go down where the shops are and there is a small garden outside that is good for photo shoots. My problem then was that it was pitch black. It was good that I had my slave lights. The bright light on the upper right side of the picture is my slave lighting.
